Point of Existence 2 v2.5 Released

[MyIS]Spawndemon | Comments: 0

As promised earlier in the week, the Point of Existence 2 mod team has released their client files for v2.5 today. Take a look:
We have been hard at work since last winter creating new content, polishing old content and generally making a better game for you to enjoy. We are pleased to announce that we feel that work has gotten to a point where we can invite you to try it out. Our release comes in a patch version for those already playing 2.1 We are also releasing a two part, 2.4 gigabyte full client version of the mod. In the past we have tried to package the installer into a single massive download. We feel that a two download, two installer version will allow us greater flexibility when dealing with the errors associated with downloading large files. We hope you will agree.

Offworld: Fall of Mars v2.0 Released

[MyIS]Spawndemon | Comments: 3

We've been sent some news today from the Offworld: Fall of Mars mod team that includes the release announcement for v2.0 of their mod! Here's what they had to say:
We are proud to announce the first "real" release of "Offworld: fall of mars". It has been in development since mid February. We have released a couple of demos and betas before, but this time we have gathered enough feedback and game play experience to allow us to release a stable and playable version.

The mod takes place around 200 years in the future when man has finally left its cradle and set about colonizing Mars and mining the surrounding asteroids for much needed resources. An ambitious effort to terraform Mars has failed for unknown reasons. The resulting chaos forced the Mars based government to flee back to Earth leaving the colonist leaderless and Mars in the hands of those with enough power to maintain order. The struggle between mining corporations, the remaining remnants of the colonial military and the engineers behind the partial terraforming of the red planet is where we find ourselves.

Feature list:
- Massive 4 square km maps featuring authentic Martian terrain
- 3 unique factions comprising 3 air units and 2 ground units each
- One of a kind hover craft like flight characteristics
- Fast paced neck breaking battles
- Air vehicles with multiple player positions
- Spawn in vehicle game dynamics eliminate noob tubing, dolphin diving, prone spamming and TKing for vehicles.
- Realistic damage values requiring brains and skill to succeed.
- Unique weapon systems for fresh game play. MGs, AA, Missile systems
- All maps have 3 or less primary Capture Points helping to focus battles and keep them intense.
- A dedicated community server kindly donated by GrossKopf of http://Flotserver.net

Bad Company Demo Servers Shutting Down

[MyIS]Spawndemon | Comments: 2

A new blog has been posted today over on the official Battlefield: Bad Company website saying that most all of the demo servers will be shutdown. Take a look:
Over the last couple of months we have seen an enormous number of players enjoying the Beta, the Demo and finally the full release of Battlefield: Bad Company.

We believe that most of you have had plenty of time to enjoy our great Multiplayer demo, and that you will want to join our live community of Battlefield: Bad Company players already enjoying the full game.

To this end we will be shutting down the majority of the Bad Company DEMO servers and converting them to retail servers this coming Tuesday, at 00:01 PST. We encourage everyone who hasn’t yet, to go and get themselves the full version.

Some benefits of joining our live community:

- A huge community of existing Bad Company players
- More unlocks
- More awards to achieve
- Photo Mode to save your Bad Company moments
- You can join the Veterans Program!

Since we don’t want to fully cut everyone off “cold turkey” we will be leaving a small number of DEMO servers on-line. We trust you will have great fun these last couple of days and hope to see you on the LIVE battlefield soon.
So if you don't yet have the full game, enjoy these remaining days with the demo and think about picking up the retail copy!
Crazy Ballistics Mod Released

[MyIS]Spawndemon | Comments: 0

We've been sent some news today from community member AwesomeATrain about a new server side mod he released by the name of Crazy Ballistics. Here's what he had to say:
Welcome soldiers to the new battlefield 2142. In the battlefield that awaits you, you will find strange new weapons and physics that seem to defy law, but worry not soldier, you're not alone. For we all have seen these bizarre things and have decided to stand and fight along side you. If you find yourself alone, flying through the air, worry soldier, for you are not superman, but are about to die unless you pull out your parachute.

So what is the Crazy Ballistics Mod? The Crazy Ballistics mod is a 100% server side mod that provides new weapons, vehicles, maps, and game modes. The clients need not to download anything before connecting to the EMS Gamers server. Everything is transferred to them right before they get to the spawn screen during the verifying client data section, where it will take longer to verify data as it's being transferred and loaded into your system. This data is then cleared upon disconnecting from the server, so that you can go to another server without any issues.

Currently only one server runs this mod, but I am looking for the right sponsors who will want to run different versions of this mod. The one great thing about this mod is the fact that it's always updating with new weapons, bug fixes, map changes, etc, all in real time without the players knowing it. They can connect one day and play another day and have completely different weaponry, which makes this mod stand out among the rest. We are 100% catered to the public fan base, so if you got an idea that you would like to see in the mod, then shoot us a PM or post in our forums and if it's a great idea, we'll add it!

For more information on what the mod offers, just connect to EMS Gamers @ 208.122.57.131:16567 or download and open the PDF file which gives full explanations on each new item and how it relates to the game. We are currently looking for video editors to make a fantastic video for this mod so if you got the skills, then we could use you! So in the mean time, we'll see you on the battlefield!

If you have anymore questions or comments on this mod be sure to post them right here!
Point of Existence 2 Mod Update #127 - v2.5 Server Files

[MyIS]Spawndemon | Comments: 2

In preparation for their v2.5 client release this Friday, the Point of Existence 2 mod team is back today with the release of their server files. Take a look:
Welcome back to another POE news update! We will keep this one short and sweet. We are proud to announce the release of our server files for POE 2.5. We encourage servers to install this full server build and to identify their servers as running 2.5. Click on the image below to download the server files for POE2 v2.5.
The final new map making it into 2.5 is by Greasy Mullet called Aces High. The map is a joint US/German level which features a large scale air battle as well as a ground game to control the island with AA. Only the team with both a strong airforce and infantry support will be victorious. Combined arms coordination here is the key.
Our singleplayer team has done an enormous amount of work on this release with seven new singleplayer maps coming on line in this release. Coldfussion put together this little film of him having a little fun with his bot coworkers, enjoy. Click the image below to see the POE2 v2.5 AI demo video.

Forgotten Hope 2 Mod Update - Advanced Weapons of War

[MyIS]Spawndemon | Comments: 3

The Forgotten Hope 2 mod team has posted up a new media update today showing off a plane and a gun. Check it out:
Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope. This week we have more toys for the Germans, but before we show those we would like to welcome two new devs to the team. First we have Bender64, a very skilled modeler and skinner, who made this week's FW190. Second we have Bob Sacamano, a talented movie maker, who made the trailers for 2.0 and 2.1. Welcome!

Today we'd like to show you the German Focke-Wulf 190 and the Gewehr 43. The Focke-Wulf was modeled and skinned by our new dev Bender64 and the Gewehr 43 was modeled and skinned by Seth Soldier.

The development of the Focke-Wulf FW190 started in 1937, when the need for a more advanced airplane to fight alongside the Messerschmitt 109 was anticipated. The first prototype flew in 1939 and by the autumn of 1941 the first of the new fighters were delivered to the front lines. The FW190 quickly proved to be superior to the Spitfire model of that time and it was generally considered to be a good plane by its pilots. Later in the war other models of the FW190 allowed it to be used as a fighter-bomber and ground attack aircraft. In total 20,000 FW190s were made during the war.

ModBuilder 1.2 Released!

Alex98uk | Comments: 3

Our own community member Deleted_Screen, part of Blue Entertainment, has released his latest version of the modding tool, Modbuilder. Here is what he had to say:
The new version of modbuilder fixes a lot of old bugs and adds new content for you to play with. I have simplified the interface to aide new users, yet make modding more efficient for those already accustomed to ModBuilder.

Change list:

• Whole new inbuilt zipping system, no winrar needed!

• Logging moved to My Documents\ModBuilder\Battlefield 2\Logs to prevent UAC errors on vista
.
• Made advanced mode, so newcomers will have an easier start without the Kit Editor and Advanced Tools.

• Refreshed interface so it should no longer crash while clicking wrong.

• Removed the old core, and made it hardcoded to make modbuilder smoother.

Be sure to leave your constructive feedback in this thread.

Conquest Mode is coming to Bad Company

[MyIS]Spawndemon | Comments: 8

As we've already known for awhile now, conquest mode will be making it's way to Battlefield: Bad Company. Today we get a first look at it. Check it out:
Keep those weapons on ready soldier we are releasing Conquest Mode on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 soon, for free! The content will include the traditional Battlefield multiplayer game mode, Conquest. Conquest focuses on the capture and control of flags; once a team captures a control point, its members can re-spawn in the area. When a team loses control of all their flags or control points, they cannot re-spawn.

Maintaining control over the flags on the battlefield is a key to victory and the ability to re-spawn troops close to the battlefront can make all the difference for that last offensive push. Four existing maps have been redesigned along with all new lighting and weather effects, to give players a great battlefield on which to play Conquest. Upon entering one of these maps, the U.S. ARMY will face off against either the Russian or Middle Eastern Coalition forces and the battle for control of the territory will begin. Look for more information soon from DICE on the release date and more details on Conquest Mode.
